Where to play games in Sheffield
Summer is almost over which often brings a strong turn in weather and a desperate need to find new fun things to do indoors. One of my favourite indoor hobbies is gaming or playing games. Whether that's table top games, video games or mobile games I find it always helps destress me. Luckily in Sheffield we have a whole plethora of gaming options so read below for my top Sheffield gaming locations
Treehouse Board Game Cafe
One of my absolute favourite places in the whole of Sheffield is the Treehouse Board Game Cafe its such an amazing space. It has a library of over 800 board games and you pay a cover charge to get access to all of the games. It has events regularly for bigger more complex games but we find it the perfect location for game date nights because the space is ultra welcoming, local beers and the most delicious Our Cow Molly milkshakes. The vast game library has also helped us find new favourites and have the opportunity to play before we buy. We now own our very own versions of popular games such as Carcassone and Ticket To Ride. If you love board games but don't want to leave the house there are so many new online board game options to suit any mood
National Video Game Museum
We are super lucky in Sheffield that we hold the unique museum that is the National Video Game Museum which combines the fun of gaming in Sheffield with the history behind it all. With fun interactive exhibitions you can play your way through gaming history on a huge range of consoles and arcade machines and over 100 games. It will definitely release the inner child in you as you go back through the origins
Extra Life Gaming Lounge
If your gaming preferences lean towards the more social element then the Extra Life Gaming Lounge is for you. With daily events showcasing different games, tons of playable consoles and delicious home cooked food and milkshakes it's the perfect hub to hang out with your friends and play lots of video games. The guys at extra life are experts in gaming and will help you find the console / game you want to play
